A multiliteracies pedagogy: principle and practice

 Dear all,

Thank you for your log 1s! I enjoyed reading them, and you are all interesting people who are willing to openly express yourselves, share your insights, and boldly challenge some issues that people have yet to consider. I really expect to have a fulfilling semester with you. Your seniors often complained about the workload for this course, but most also accomplished a great deal regardless of the challenges.

Second, I have seen 24 log1s, but the statistics showed a different number, meaning some of you did not give the correct labels to this log. Please check again.

Tomorrow, I will begin by reviewing what "critical literacy" is (which you must have learned well last year) and then introduce what "multiliteracies pedagogy" means and how it relates to this course. This may affect your view about reading and writing and your way of learning language and literacy.

I will also collect two surveys from you in order for me to understand you better and know better how to help you.

Lastly, my EMI TA, Paulina, will come to class and demonstrate how ChatGPT can help you write but not generate text from scratch. We will have chances to "converse" with ChatGPT during your revision process.

See you tomorrow!
