Greetings! This is Ikura checking in. Ever since high school, people have been calling me “附中 Ikura” for reasons I still can’t explain, but I don’t mind at all—it’s grown on me. I’m the keyboard and guitar player for my band, and we love expressing ourselves through music. Besides music, I make sure to read daily because, as a musician, it’s important to find inspiration everywhere. Whether it’s a news article or a journal, I always set aside at least 10 minutes a day for reading. Personally, I find news much more engaging than storybooks because it often requires fact-checking and additional research, which can lead to discovering fascinating insights.

Like many others, I’m required to take this course, even though it might not be my first choice. Don’t get me wrong—I don’t dislike it. Reading and writing may not seem very exciting, but I’m here with a positive attitude, ready to do my best and stay engaged. It’s important for me to adjust to new teaching methods, and with Professor Syying leading the class, I can already foresee a fun and productive semester. Haha!
