log 1

Hi, I’m Bella. For me, reading is the most relaxing time of the day. Since I was a kid, I’ve liked to read co

mics and light novels in my free time. The first comic I read was Gin Tama, which is a sci-fi story that combines the history of the Edo period and alien invasion. This story includes many funny elements, but we can see the invasion, unequal treaties, corruption of power, and the samurai spirit of the protagonist from joy. I think comics are not always childish and not-serious. In many cases, we can think more about the spirit conveyed through comics, or issues the author wants to discuss. Besides, different authors from different backgrounds can write completely different styles of novels. Take romance novels for example, some authors can create a love story through time and space, and some authors are good at using delicate words to express how the protagonists love each other. Also, I always admire novelists and cartoonists. I'm curious about how they can write such vivid fictional characters, and build such a realistic world.

Most of the time, I consider myself a reader, but sometimes I would record some emotions or wealth-memory stories through writing. I think some moment in the future, I can write novels from them, however, I lack some abilities, such as logic and coherence in writing. Therefore, through this course, from the process of reading, analysis, writing, and review, I can learn how to make my article logically corrected, and some writing skills like how to use different ways to express emotions.

  1. I am not sure if this course will help you become a novelist, ha, but everything we do shall help build a clearer path for you to become a logical, critical thinker with insights!

  2. Hi Bella!

I think that emotional exploration is so personal, that there not one-size-fit-all kind of approach. However, as you mentioned, different stories and artist, even between the same genre, can convey ideas, emotions and worlds differently. Having your style is something you can explore with time. Don't pressure yourself with having any sort of requirements. I suggest you to write for the sick of it, let your pen run freely on the pages (metaphorically speaking if you write on an electronic device). Eventually, after a couple of months you can look back and see the changes and improvements. Take inspiration on books, comics, movies or whatever, and describe them from your own point of view.
    What do you think? :)
