Log 3

  

 Like log two, I continually read the book " DIARY of a Wimpy Kid: OLD SCHOOL". After read more contents, I found the resonance in the matter of three generations living under the same roof. In the story, Greg's grandpa began to live with them because he couldn't afford to the rent of original  residence. Although Greg was OK with grandpa moving in with them , he found much unconvenience after his room was be chose by his grandpa, which made him lose a lot of private space. Except for Greg, the one who was influenced by the new dweller the most is Greg's dad. Actually, Greg's dad wasn't so hot on the idea that his own father live with them because he would become more stressful. For example, they could tell Grandpa didn't really approve of the way Greg's parents were raising their kids even though he never said it. In this case, Greg's father became more tense and more serious to Greg and his brothers, like forcing Greg to do things by himself but not by Mom anymore and forcing Greg's brother, Rodrick, to get a job but not to get money from Mom.

    These contents make me think about my family. I have been lived with my parents and grandparents since I was a child. During this time, I have also ever experienced the unconvenience like Greg. For instance, when I asked for somthing to my partents, they usually made me ask my grandparents first, which also presented their stress from them. Besides, unlike being moralizing by Greg's father, I always got the homily directly by my parents. Everytime I felt dissenting to them, my parents would make me pay attentiion to their identies and just listen to them. When I was a child, I was definitely annoyed by this kind of situation many times, so I can understand more about some conditions Greg encountered after his grandpa living with them. However, I'm happy to live with my grandparents now because I have been an adult who can comprehend that they actually really love me and hope me to be better. Perhaps their thoughts sometimes may be too old, they in fact can accept my opinions if I'm willing to share with them in a good attitide.

    In the story, there havn't been the situations of communication between Greg and his grandpa, but there indeed were some different thoughts between them. Hence, I'm still curious about the next plot and how Greg thoughts of living with Grandpa will change in the future.
