 Imagine that when you woke up in a normal morning as usual and found out that you have six skinny feet, big, rounded back and a brown armoured belly.That's the book of this time, Metamorphosis, by Franz Kafka. Before We started we can know something about Franz Kafka. His father didn't treated him well and not willing to understand his desire on literature, even discouraged him.Which makes him more introvert, negative and often feel guilty, young Kafat though it is HE, destroyed his Father's life.I read some emotions in his works, they are solitary and melancholy. Kafka's relationship between he and his family are highly similar with Gregor and Gregor's family in Metamorphosis. And I think his father influence his writing styles deeply. In his works, quotes or his personality, we can see that he seems not a happy person.

In chapter 1 it is wired that the first thing comes to Gregor's mind is that he's gonna be late for work after found out himself transform into a vermin. It insane that he care more on his career. Did he really like kis job? No he hate it, he worries about his works so much is because his family, he raised his whole family on his own, the house could not keep going without Gregor's support. From these plots we could know that Although Gregor doesn't often talk with his family, he still care about them.

In chapter two the main point is that how the metamorph influence his family. Gregor's still remains humans thoughts,but his actions has became more like a real vermin.His family forced to earn more money to make them staying alive. Their attitude to Gregor has gradually changed.I think it is a plot that how does a man used to support the whole family became unpopular in his house even become redundant to his family. In the end of this chapter,his father even throw apples towards Gregor. When they realized that they can raise themselves on their own Gregor seems not that important for them, especially he is now a vermin.

And in chapter three the way this family treat him is also noticable. At first chapter, they will sent him foods, moves all the furniture for him so that he can crawl easier, but in the end , he has become a problem they cannot ignore. Gregor eventually died and his family moved to a new place with a bright future. Everything seems to be good. I see how a man being cold shoulder after he can help nothing to a family. It is not just a plot of a novel, it could happen in real life, no one will accept someone who can help nothing with. Even your family may abandoned you!

I gained some knowledge about this author and fantasy novels after finishing Metamorphosis, besides,it also reminds me of long-term care issues. Thay both have something in common like a man who used to support the whole family suddenly, sadly losing his importance and became a problem to his family. It is a problem to take care of them/it or not. Is he/she/it the one we used to know? It's hard to distinguish that is he the people we used to know. I think Metamorphosis is trying to discuss about relationships, between you, your family,and the society. If someday you became useless, what will your family do? Will the society adapt a man who can do nothing? What is it really connecting us and our family? It is a book which can make us think about the reality issues in real life.
