Hi, I’m Joanna. To be honest, I don’t usually read or write on my own during my free time now. Before I had a cellphone, I liked to read romance novels to pass the time. Nowadays, due to the popularity of streaming media, I always use Netflix to watch romantic comedies, which is also my hobby now . On the platform, there are many videos which are adapted from romance novels. In this way, I gradually lose the habit of reading. The book I recently read is “Atomic Habits” which was written by James Clear. In this book, he will teach us how to make tiny changes that deliver big results, how to design your environment to make success easier and so on. After I read it, I really changed my bad habits successfully.
As for writing, I have never actively engaged in it. All of my writing experiences are from school. All along, my writing grades have been quite average. I always express my ideas in a plain and straightforward manner, without using embellishments or elaborate language, which has led to my writing grades not improving. I have tried to improve my writing skill before, but it’s still difficult for me. I hope this course will enhance my writing skills. I will also motivate myself to put in the effort and achieve meaningful progress in the new semester. I’m looking forward to becoming a great reader and writer in the future.

Hi Joanna!
ReplyDeleteI have read Atomic Habits too! Maybe using the 1% approach, you can start incorporating reading and writing slowly week by week. You don't need to give up on watching dramas. In fact, you can use that as inspiration to convey ideas comparing (maybe) the stories on paper and on tv.
