Welcome to My Blog on My Introduction Everyone!
Hello everyone! My name is Ryan, and I am pleased to share more about myself with you today. I am the kind of person who is willing to try new things that I have never given a go. That's why my interests are on a spectrum and each of them is far away from each other. First of all, I love watching NCAA, which is the toppest and most competitive basketball tournament for university students in the US. My another interest is reading some relaxing works! Reading was a big part of my interest before when I was in senior high school, when I had a lot of time to have my head buried in the books I liked. Even now I still love reading them, my favorite books to read are light novels from Japan, and my favorite genre is love comedy. I actually wasn't a reading-loving guy before I came across the genre. I used to think that reading was incredibly boring and why would I waste my leisure time on books, especially when I just finished studying my textbooks for tomorrow's exams? But I gradually gained interest on reading because I simply wanted to try it out. At first, I was kind of scared of not being able to finish the book because there were way too many words and I thought I would just give up midway. However, the table turned after I bought my first light novel which I still remember until this day, is about the struggle of a younger sister and her feeling towards becoming lonely and hopeless after the decease of her only family, her older sister. It was at that time I found the true joy of reading the words that I thought were prolix and a waste of time. The emotions, actions, struggles, distraghtness, trauma of the main character, I could feel as if she were speaking in front of me, through static words, yet more dynamic than movies. After reading the first one, I then consecutively bought other love comedy light novels and they all brought me a lot of fun and precious, unforgettable times. Even though I cannot buy and read as much compared to the high scchool years, I still go by the bookstore and buy one or two sequels of the books I loved or I am interested in now.
As for my writing history, it's mainly about essays regarding topics that surround environmental issues, or an advertisement about a certain product, etc. But I didn't do it based on my own interest, it was for the purpose of participating in a writing competition. Surprisingly, I actually find it quite fun to write long essays nowadays. I love the feeling of smoothly typing the ideas and thoughts I want to express, with fluent sentence structure and beautiful, poetic grammar and words. Additionally, on my free time scrolling on the internet, I like to comment on the videos I find interesting using some slangs like "bro this is fire ngl." Writing these comments are really fun to intereact with others about some incredible, rare stories others encounterd in their lives! I consider myself more of a reader than a writer because I still read more than I write, I am not a light novel author after all. I expect the course can teach me more about writing because I can't wait to have new writing ideas and refine my writing skills. Apart from the writing part, I actually think the video, or the final creative project interests me the most because that's a new thing for me, as this blog writing. I consider the workload of this course really high after reading the whole syllabus for third times thoroughly especially when I am having a double major at libray information science and a minor at Biochemical Science & Technology! But I think I will be fine because I believe in my ability, and with my endeavor, the heart of learning-loving, I will have a fruitful and fulfilling experience in the course! I hope that the professor can help me with the ways of reading efficiently and writing effectively, also persuasively.

Hi Ryan!
ReplyDeleteYour interests are quite wide and I am happy to share some of them (sort of xd)
For example, I love basketball! I used to play when I was in school, and I was even worked as a basketball and football coach here in Taiwan until a couple of years! I had to quit because my body cannot take that toll and I got injured. I don't really watch sports except for the Olympics cuz it makes me want to play, and it breaks my heart uwu.
I also enjoy Japanese light novels. My favorite one is Full Metal Panic! Have you read it? I like novels that incorporate historical elements eve if it's in sci-fi. What is your favorite story?
You have an impressive way to express yourself. I can see through your post your experience in writing and also reading.
You definitely have a challenge with taking this class and having two majors, but I trust this experience (the class) will be enriching.
Double major? Then we shall help you accomplish your double major studies instead of hindering your goal! Your reading and writing experience and practice will only make your learning in other areas/disciplines more effective and efficient. Let's keep talking about your study and plan for the future!
