I borrowed this book named "Forest of Shadows" from the school library, and the author is Kamilla Benko. I chose this book because I really like the story and characters of "Frozen". I've watched the movie many times but never read the book, so when I found this book in the library, I decided to read it. This book is a companion to "Frozen II" and provides additional background about their family. Essentially, it narrates the relationship between the magical forest and the kingdom of Arendelle. The heroine, Elsa, hears a call from the magical forest and responds to it, which angers the spirits of the forest and forces the people of Arendelle to leave their homes. To resolve this issue, Elsa decides to embark on a journey to the magical forest. During this adventure, Elsa and her sister Anna must solve ancient mysteries, overcome inner fears, and confront the dark forces within the forest. They need to rely on their love and trust in each other to complete this adventure. Along the way, Elsa also accidentally discovers the reason for her parents' death and initially blames herself. Eventually, she clears up all misunderstandings and chooses to reconcile with herself.
Many people might think that Disney books or movies are just for children, but I believe there is a lot to learn from them. Each character can teach us something valuable. Let's start with Elsa. She often blames herself for everything, struggles to accept her own shortcomings, and tries to protect others out of love for her family. However, her desire to protect can sometimes unintentionally hurt others.Throughout Elsa’s adventure, she goes through a journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. She gradually learns to embrace herself and understand her true place in the world. Elsa’s story has taught me the importance of accepting oneself, facing challenges with courage, and valuing every relationship. She has helped me understand that accepting both our strengths and imperfections is a crucial part of growth. Embracing our uniqueness rather than denying it, confronting unknowns, and facing challenges bravely can lead to personal growth and progress. Additionally, while trying to protect others, it's also essential to learn trust and communication; excessive self-protection can backfire.Let’s discuss Anna further, as she embodies many qualities worth learning from: selfless love and sacrifice, supporting and encouraging others, and courageously facing new challenges. Anna understands that protecting and helping Elsa takes high risks, she is still willing to give her all. She teaches me that true love often requires sacrifice and effort, and some people are truly worth it.Next is her ability to encourage and support others. Anna consistently offers positive encouragement and supports others' decisions. This is crucial on a spiritual level, also it fosters collaboration and mutual growth. Finally, Anna’s courage to face new challenges is noteworthy. Staying within a comfort zone often leads to stagnation, while embracing new challenges promotes growth and broadens one’s horizons. I believe these qualities in Anna are valuable lessons for me to learn from. These are the qualities I have observed and learned so far. I am still exploring the traits of other characters and hope to gradually uncover more!
According to your log 1, e.g., your reading history and interests, I didn't expect your log 2 to be this good! Nice work. Thank you for making an effort on this reading reflection, whether the grammar or the content. Which one, Elsa or Anna, do you identify yourself with more?
