Hi, I’m Selina. Unless I'm asked to do so, I usually don't actively read and write in English. But there's still a novel I read in high school that impressed me a lot. It's called "Number the Stars", the story is about a 10 years old Jewish girl and her family fleeing from Nazi during World War II. It was really a great book for beginner and it made me realize the cruelty of the war. Speaking of my hobbies and interests, I love playing volleyball and reading sci-fi novels in Mandarin during my free time.  Also, I'm addicted to old movies. They were always able to refresh my thoughts on things, even on life.

  After today's class, I can tell that this course is not going to be an easy one for me. But I know this is gonna be a great opportunity for me to improve my poor ability on writing and enhance my reading frequency. I expect that I can consider myself as a reader/writer at the end of this semester. For now, there are still a great distance for me to become a "reader" or "writer", and I hope this course can help me gain confidence on writing and develop reading habit.
