After reading chapter 7 to 11, the most impressed chapter to me is chapter 10. In this chapter, the boy in the striped pajamas finally makes its debut in the book. His name is Shmuel. Actually, I thought Bruno will be the boy in the striped pajamas when I read the book in the beginning. However, I searched the book online. I found a movie, which was based on the book. There were two boys in the movie, so I knew the main character is another boy.
In the chapter 10, Bruno and Shmuel had a short conversation. I remembered that both of them thought the country they born in is the best of all countries. It leads me to ponder that Taiwan is the best of all countries in my mind?
As everyone knows, because of China, Taiwan is not recognized as a country in the world. However, in many Taiwanese's opinion, Taiwan is an independent country, so do I. I do not like to hear people call Chinese Taipei instead of Taiwan. Ｗhether it is the best country is another matter. Many foreigners said there are beautiful scenery, delicious food, and warm hospitality in Taiwan. To be honest, I do not think it is true before I travel abroad. However, when I traveled in Hong Kong and Macau with my friend this August, I found it was true. Except for beautiful scenery, the food in these two area is pretty expensive and small serving. On average, we spent 500 NT dollars on each meal, but we did not feel full. Also, it is not as delicious as Taiwanese food. Additionally, people in these two area are very indifferent. I will never forget that when we ate a dinner in a famous Bing Sutt (冰室), a server accidentally dropped our chopsticks and did not apologize. We felt that we were not being respected. If it happened in Taiwan, the server must be very sorry to us. Due to these reasons, Taiwan is the best country in my mind.
