In the next few chapters, the tension between Ana and Christian ramps up in a way that honestly makes me feel a little nervous for her. Ana starts learning more about who Christian really is, and to be honest, it’s a lot. He opens up about his strange lifestyle, and, wow, I can’t even imagine how overwhelming that must be for her. There’s something about him that still draws her in, though. I can’t blame her for being curious, but it’s hard not to worry about how she’ll handle everything. You can really feel the shift in their relationship after this, and it’s kinda unsettling.
Then Christian brings up the idea of a contract. I mean, a contract for their relationship? It’s no wonder Ana freaks out. I think I would too. The idea of someone having that much control over your life is just… unsettling. Ana seems really conflicted—part of her wants to run, but part of her is still fascinated by Christian. I get it, though; there’s something about him that pulls her in, even when she’s scared. I feel bad for her, because it seems like she’s stuck in this impossible situation, torn between wanting him and wanting to stay true to herself.
As the chapters go on, you can see Ana slowly starting to stand up for herself, which honestly makes me cheer for her a little. She’s not letting Christian boss her around as much anymore. There are moments where she pushes back, and you can see that she’s trying to figure out who she really is in all of this. I felt proud of her when she finally started questioning his controlling behavior. I mean, she still cares about him, but she’s realizing that she has her own voice too. It’s a small step, but it feels like such a big deal for her.
At the same time, Christian doesn’t love it when Ana pushes back, but you can tell he’s not used to it either. It’s like, in his world, people just do what he says, and here’s Ana, challenging him. Honestly, it’s kind of satisfying to see him a bit thrown off.
The chemistry between them is really strong, and I’m not going to lie—it’s intense. Every time they’re together, I can feel the tension building, and it leaves me feeling almost as confused as Ana must be. She’s scared of how much she wants him, but also terrified of what being with him might cost her. It’s kinda heartbreaking to watch her struggle with these feelings. She’s so unsure, and you can really feel her fear of losing herself in all of this.
By the end of these chapters, I was left wondering if they could even make this work. Ana and Christian are so different, and honestly, it feels like they’re headed for a crash. But at the same time, I can’t help but hope that maybe, somehow, they’ll figure it out.
