In Chapter 3, the relationship between Bella and Edward gets more intense when Edward saves Bella’s life. A van nearly crashes into Bella in the school parking lot, but Edward moves impossibly fast and stops it with his hand. This shocks Bella, and she realizes something is very strange about Edward.This moment is key because it makes Bella start questioning who Edward really is. She knows no human could do what he did. When she asks Edward for answers, he refuses to explain and even lies, saying she imagined it. This frustrates Bella, but it also makes her more determined to find out the truth.

What stood out to me is Bella’s curiosity and bravery. Most people would accept Edward’s lie, but Bella doesn’t. She knows something is off and won’t stop asking questions. I think this shows how she’s different from others and how much she wants to understand Edward.

Edward’s actions show that he cares about Bella but also wants to protect her from knowing too much. He seems afraid to get close to her, which makes me wonder why. I also noticed that after the accident, Bella feels alone because no one else understands what really happened. This secret creates a stronger connection between Bella and Edward, even though they aren’t fully open with each other.

Last, this chapter is exciting because it reveals more of Edward’s mystery. Bella’s determination to uncover the truth adds suspense, and Edward’s attempts to push her away make me eager to find out what happens next.
